Hey ENA! ;) (I am so sorry, but that just tickles me no end!) As per your comment last week, I hope you were perhaps able to enjoy at least one 'light bulb" scenario in class today or perhaps maybe a flicker! Enjoyed so much meeting your friend Linda and knowing that we will be able to enjoy getting to know her even better in the weeks to come just makes it all the nicer! Further blessed by you and Jan dropping by the house after class for a cup of tea... always my favourite treat list!
I am working on my Tribulation time line. I think I am getting some of it okay but I am feeling a bit uncertain.
The wrath of God begins with the breaking of the first seal which also begins the tribulation, right? During the first 3.5 years the seals and the first 6 trumpets sound. The 2 witnesses are also in this time period. In 11:15 the 7th trumpet sounds and voices in heaven proclaim "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Chrisst; and He will reign forever and ever" . Christ has not yet returned but at this point, there is a change in the kingdom or is this a prophetic utterance? Does this begin the 2nd 3.5 years or do the 1260 days the 2 witnesses straddle the 1st and 2nd 3.5 years?
Chap. 12 seems to be partly a recap of things that have taken place, 12:5, and partly prophetic, 12:6, the woman fleeing to the wilderness where she is nourished for 1280 days (3.5 yrs.) Again I think this refers to the 2nd 3.5 years but I am not sure
In chap. 13 the beasts appear ( is this occurring during the 2nd 3.5 years?) I am still a bit confused about the "reaping" that occurs in vs. 14-17. If Christ is the "one like a son of man" then is the angel who came out of the temple carrying a message from God, proclaiming the day and the hour since no one knows that except God. If I am understanding this correctly, the angel must be carrying a message from God because angels would not be telling Jesus what to do. Is the phrase "the harvest of the earth is ripe" and the reaping of the earth that follows, the Rapture of the church or is it referring to something else? Again I am not sure where to put this on the timeline.
To me, because the bowls carry such terrible things, these must occur during the Great Tribulation, the 2nd 3.5 years.
So that takes me to the end of Chap 16. More questions to come. See you tomorrow morning. Love you,
