Hi Girls!
Once again, I enjoyed our morning together (and hope you did too) as we looked closer into the varied occurrences of the mentioning of "city" and "great city" as well as the first mention of them in scripture.
It's always enlightening to look at the beginnings of anything we study and this is why Genesis and the books of the Old Testament are so rich to us in our study of the New Testament.
Even though our focus this coming week will be upon Revelation 4-8 and the Seals, Trumpets and Bowls, don't forget the timeline that we discussed this morning regarding the beginnings of Babylon in Genesis and it's fall to the Medes and Persians in Daniel 5.
It's in this timeline that we see the birth of the Table of Nations and also the birth of the Nation of Israel, remember what you have learned and carry it over into your study this week, particularly in Revelation 7 regarding the 144,000!
Also, this week, set aside a separate page for the questions you have that may not be able to be answered right now...
for instance, who are the "elders" in Chapter 7?
In the weeks ahead, we will continue to fine-tooth comb our way through Revelation,
and as we do you will be able to discover Truth for yourself and answer these questions!
I will be away next week, so I'll be praying that you have a wonderful time together in God's Word and trust that you will be greatly blessed as Cat leads the discussion Thursday morning!
Be sure to make good use of the Comment Cafe this week, I'll be checking in regularly to see if any of you have shown up to share, discuss or have any questions to ask your sisters...
love you!

Hi Cathie; I'm so embarrassed to tell you that I've tried to post comments many times at the Comment Café, but without success! I am so computer UN-savy! I wanted to thank you for posting your timeline for those of us who couldn't get to the class yesterday...THANK YOU! It is helpful, as it seems to me background and historical information are both key in the understanding of the book of Revelation.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks! Jeanne
