Hi Cathie and all you blogger sisters out there,

Just had to share a very exciting AHA moment. I was working on Lesson 10 when I came to the part about the manna promised to Overcomers. I was dutifully recording information about manna from the OT then In Hebrews it notes that manna is part of the Old Covenent. It dawned on me that we are under the New Covenent, not the Old. Flash forward to John 6:31-40 and 48-51 and I felt like I had been hit with lightening and I felt chills go down my back. Jesus is the manna, the bread of heaven, sent by the Father to give life, just as He sent the earlier, lesser manna to give physical life to the Israelites in the wilderness; they ate the manna but they died. It is the will of the Father, which Jesus was sent to do, that all who believe in the Son will not die but have eternal life. All who eat of Jesus, this Bread out of Heaven, will have eternal life.
I am not doing the best job of explaining but what I can say is that I knew about the manna in the OT and I have studied both John and Hebrews before but I never "got" it before. I did not make the connection. I am so excited right now. Guess there's hope for my ability to understand after all
    Celebrating in His great name
    Love,

  2. Celebrating right along with you Jan!

There is a particular thrilling of my heart that comes whenever one of my sisters shares an AHA moment while knee deep in the Word of God... thank you for the thrill Jan! I still remember our summer in the Psalms and how you were taking such delight in your discovery then as well... pure joy on my part as the hearer of such good news!

  3. Jan - you did such a good job of explaining. I found this part of the study amazing as well. Love going back to Hebrews - have a very soft spot for that book - especially the things learned about the Tabernacle.

I feel very blessed that I'm going thru this study with you guys (gals)
    Sally

PS - I won't be able to be with you again this week so I will see you all next Thursday.
