Lesson Six... Thyatira

Hey Girls!

Just a reminder that we will be having a Comment Cafe Gathering here next Tuesday from 7pm - 8pm!

During that hour, we sisters will be making ourselves available for one another, to chat, ask or answer any questions regarding this week's homework, or just to share with one another what we are learning and the impact that it is having upon our hearts.

Because this hour in the Comment Cafe will be in 'real time',
I will be e-mailing out to all of you, each of the comments of your sisters as they are coming in!
You can, of course pop in at any time, on any day and add to the discussion... or start a brand new one!

I believe that by using the Comment Cafe in this way,
we will be able to not only expand our Bible Study time from just a few hours once a week, but also be able to go deeper and get much more out of our study each week as we fellowship with our sisters!

I will be popping in each evening hoping to see you here!
And am looking forward to gathering with you this coming Tuesday from 7pm -8pm!

love,

  1. Hi Girls! 7 o'clock and I'm here... didn't send out a reminder this time so I'm hoping that you remember to pop in during this hour and say hello!

  2. Did anyone pick up on the fact that there were two distinct people groups within the church of Thyatira that were being addressed... won't expound any more so that some of you can share what you've discovered in your study this week regarding this...

  5. I am just starting day 4. what have I learned, well not so much learned but reminded that God always knows our hearts and minds. No sense pretending that a stumble here and maybe there isn't important. It sure is. In my early life as a Christian I used to think ..oh God knows I didn't mean that, or it was an oops scenario. That has changed there are no more "oopses" only the strong overwhelming conviction that I have not only disappointed Him but hurt Him in my actions or thoughts. I believe I have denied Christ at those times. I deny Him when I don't get into His word, when I don't speak up for Him and about Him when the opportunity arises. when I ignore Him with excuses like..I don't have time or I'll get right on that or whatever my lame excuse is. I am thankful He doesn't keep an ongoing "Edna's Denial" list. But I am very great full He has made the way clear for me to come to Him in repentance.
    Thank you Lord Jesus

  6. Yes, indeed...two groups within the church of Thyatira.... believers and non believes...those who praise and worship the Lord and those who praise and worship false idols. It is the same today. Many worship false idols...money, career, possessions, power, image, achievements, good works, recognition the list really is endless. I guess whatever takes our eyes off the Lord even momentarily. So I am now off....it is pass 8:00 and no one is out there for me to babble to.... blessings sisters

  7. Edna, as I was listening to the outpouring of your heart 1 John 3:1 kept running through my mind...

"See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are."

As His child, He is training you up in the ways of His Son, that more and more you may resemble Him, being transformed into His image by the renewing of your mind. It is an on-going process until we go to be with Him.

This morning, in my quiet time, it was verse 25 that jumped straight off the page and into my heart, ministering to me greatly... "Nevertheless, WHAT YOU HAVE, hold fast until I come."

As we grow in maturity regarding the things of Christ and learn to live according to His ways by His Spirit, it is good to remember that WHAT WE HAVE in Christ today, right now, this minute... whatever we have that He has poured into us up to this point... we are to HOLD FAST until He comes.

Don't ever waste a moment beating yourself up in self condemnation, just take it to the LORD in all humility and He will be the Lifter of your head, that you may, through His forgiveness, stand before Him unashamed.

OK, I'm done girls! My husband awaits my company! Looking forward to seeing all your precious faces on Thursday morning!

Blessings upon you and your households this evening!

    love,
    Cathie

  8. QUICKLY POSTING THIS FOR GLORY... WILL BE BACK TOMORROW TO RESPOND TO THIS!!!
    THANKS GLORY!

    Hi Cathie,

Not a computer wiz at certain things and couldn't get into the gathering place...(basically too lazy to try and running out of time.)...so I decided to e-mail you instead, even though its probably too late.

To tell you the truth I actually hate responding to things like a forum because I do it so much for school and try to stay away from things like this...basically I hate writing and tired of it....but I know its something that I must do in order for me to learn to grow deeper in my relationship with Christ.

My question is actually from last week...

    1. How do you deal with frustrations, when people are not listening, disobeying or when things go wrong? I sometimes just need to share my frustrations out loud with someone and it makes me feel better? What do you do?

    2. I also have a problem with retraining what I have just learned. I tend to move to the next thing right away and forget what I have just learned. Do you have any suggestions or verses to help me with this problem?

    3. In regards to Thyatira I have realized how immorality can easily seek up on you and how it traps you to sin. Thank goodness that God is gracious and is teaching me to be more holy and to keep my eyes focused on him and not of things of this world! Thank you Jesus!

    For the Kingdom!
    Glory
