I had numerous second thoughts about putting this video up... honestly, I was a little tired when I did it and became increasingly unsure if I actually spoke with any clarity at all! I actually considered adding a few disclaimers to go along with it, such as...
1. Yes, I am well aware that Halloween is NOT an actual holiday
2. If you happen to enjoy Halloween just know my response of YECH! to it is purely one of personal opinion.
3. Please, DO NOT contact me to address the theological unsoundness of me telling my dog that in regards to his inappropriate conduct there is no condemnation in Christ...
Anyway, I am placing it here by faith and would really appreciate your input as to whether you prefer the writing out of these posts or the videos or a staggered combination of the two... I'm up for any assortment of the three and would really value your input!
Now, here is the scripture that God has given me for these next two weeks...
I have set the Lord continually before me;
Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
Psalm 16:8
with much love,

Love seeing your face, love reading your writing. Thank you Cathie. I hope to post my next scripture soon!

ReplyDeleteI decided to read the little book Habakkuk the other day, and the last few verses resonated with me.
This is my verse for November 1st.
Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vine,
the produce of the olive fail
and the fields yield no food,
the flock be cut off from the fold
and there be no herd in the stalls
Yet will I rejoice in the Lord,
I will take joy in the God of my salvation.
This reminds me that in spite of all the calamities in the world,
my God is in control.
Habakkuk 3:17&18 ESV

My verses will be:
ReplyDeletePsalm 25:4-5. Make me to know your ways
O Lord, teach me your paths. Lead me in
your truths and teach me, for you are the
God of my salvation; for you I wait all the
day long.
We just had a devotional on this psalm in
our moms group, so these are the verses
that I took from that.

1 Peter 3:3-4 NASB
ReplyDeleteLet not your adornment be merely external -- braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses; but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.
I wanted to pick something short and easy -- ha! But if something is precious in the sight of God, I want to be it! He is changing me day by day. Although outwardly I think it's hard to see, my inner person is desiring more and more to be like Him, to follow after His heart. It's funny how it started small, and the more I feed it, the more it grows (well it seems obvious when I put it that way).
I wanted to add that I really enjoy your video. Also, what you were saying about going over past verses and having them form a kind of story of what God is sowing into your life is exactly what I was thinking. Pretty neat. Love you.
ReplyDeleteAlmost forgot, I was wondering if there was a way you could record your voice louder. I have to turn my volume way up to hear you. Look at me spamming your blog... Okay that's it.
ReplyDeleteI am so enjoying seeing your verses pop up, one after the other! Cat, I love what you said about your inner person desiring more to be like God and to follow after His heart and that the more you feed this desire the more it grows! This is the kind of indulgent feeding that prospers us! Don't you love it when you can indulge in the very thing that you desire and the only side effect is to become more and more like Him! Love it!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I was thinking the very same thing about the audio... I think I might be able to fix this... let me tinker a bit with it and perhaps it can be corrected by this evening.
love you girls!
I have spent a week learning about the sovereignty of God. It all came together for me in this verse as His sovereignty applies to my own life:
ReplyDeleteBut I trust in you, O Lord,
I say "you are my God"
My times are in your hand.
Psalm 31:14 & 15a
"Our feet are standing within your gates O Jerusalem." Psalm 122:2
ReplyDeleteI saw a bookmarker with this verse while we were at the Sea of Galilee and within a day or two this verse was a reality for Edna, Pat, Jan, Jim and myself. All of Psalm 122 has become very precious to me and I see it now with new eyes. There is an expression that says, "been there, done that" but I know that for me it is more like been "THERE"...
I learned that the term "Israel" is used 2566 times in the Bible - more that any other subject next to the Lord Himself.
I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to have been in the land which was promised to the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. My prayer is that God will continue to open my eyes to what He wants me to learn from this gift of our time in Israel.
Edna and Jan...loved being there with you!
Girls, here is an encouragement...Frances Havergal who wrote the hymn “Take My Life and Let It Be” memorized the entire New Testament, the Psalms, and Isaiah, in her teenage years, and in her later years she memorized the Minor Prophets. She died at the age of 43, and had already committed 12, 935 verses to memory. Here is the song http://youtu.be/V0Byp7aK2DA
ReplyDeleteHow amazing Jude! that is encouragment indeed.
