Hi Girls!
An audio recording of this mornings class was unable to be done, hopefully this will all be sorted out by next week and we will be up and running.
This morning was basically an Overview of Philippians and talking a closer look at what we had gleaned from marking our first 3 key repeated words. I've typed out below a basic mini-summary chart...don't for a moment miss, or discount the scripture that heralds in, and blatantly banners over, all three of these key words!
Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me.
JOY/REJOICE JESUS CHRIST MIND ATTITUDE
despite... is... is...
imprisonment my life submissive
people my mind servant
things my goal single
circumstances my peace secure
Although we discussed and took in quite alot this morning, some of our sisters were unable to be there, so the very best place to share this mornings class or to ask questions is in the Comment Cafe, I will check in later this evening, I am hoping to see you there!
with love and joy in serving,

Hey Edna, we missed you today but knowing that you will be with us next week is something nice to look forward to. Just a heads up on this weeks homework... it's primarily a Chapter study of Philippians 1 and you are asked to look for and mark additional key words, as well as mark every occurrence of Holy Spirit and God and their pronouns. Also mark any contrasts, comparisons, terms of conclusions and expressions of time. Also, identify the theme of Philippians 1. Day 4 and Day 5 is reading through Acts 15 - 17, Acts 20 and 28, 2Timothy 1 and 4 and Philippians 1:12-26 to get a background on Paul and Timothy's relationship, why they went to Philippi and the significant things you learn about Philippi. Also you will find out more about Paul's imprisonment - was the one in 2 Timothy the same one as when he wrote to the Philippians?
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your study Edna - see you next week!
Hey Judy, just a quick note to encourage you to ask questions here if you don't understand something about the inductive Bible study instructions that are given in this weeks homework. Any one of your sisters will be more than willing to jump in and help you out in any way that you might need. We are blessed to have you and I look forward to sharing these next few months together with you!
ReplyDeleteHi Judy,
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to have you join our group and look forward to hearing your comments during our sessions. You have already given me lots to think about. Looking forward to our fellowship
Debbie
Hi Cathie and all my sisters in Christ,
ReplyDeleteI just reread this post on the key words joy/rejoice, Jesus Christ, and mind/attitude. What a fabulous way of putting it!!! I have written it in my notes. So easy to understand and remember. Thank you, Cathie.
So glad that you've found it helpful Jan, you're welcome!
