Scripture Memory Team Verse Fifteen!

A Visual of the Principle of Blooming Wherever We are Planted

Hey Girls!  I'm just slipping in under the wire here! A few hours late and having to do this via iPhone!
Our Memory Verse spirals are beginning to get quite substantial as we reach our 15th verse today!
My hope and prayer for each one of you is that you are living in the joy and in the power of all that God has placed within you through His Word and by His Spirit!

My verse for this particular two week period comes from 1 Thessalonians 5:12...

"... we request of you, brethren, that you appreciate those who diligently labour among you, and have charge over you in the Lord and give you instruction, and that you esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Live in peace with one another."

I smiled at the last part... perhaps one way we can show our appreciation and esteem, 'in love', is to live in peace with one another!

Looking forward to hearing your memory verses,
Love you!
Cathie

  1. Well I had been slacking off a bit on the memory verses, but I'm back. I need them more than ever, and I'm seeing why God gave me some of them (Rom. 8:28, 1 Pet 5:6-7...). My dad was just diagnosed with mantle cell lymphoma, a rare and deadly form. We don't know any details yet, just the initial diagnosis. Please add him to your prayers and the prayer list at your churches, everyone (Le Leonberger).
My verses are Jude's from last time. It's going around. :)
Phil 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ.

And 2 Cor 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort.
Also, share with me your personal verses of comfort and strength if you feel so moved.

  2. Cat, I am so glad you are back, this is what it is all about.... our need and God's provision through His Word and by His Spirit. I spoke with Angie yesterday and she let me know about your dad, Scott and I are praying sweetheart.
The verses that come to mind are
He will never leave us nor forsake us...
Come unto Him and He will give rest to our souls...
We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us...
He will keep in Perfect Peace the girl whose mind is stayed upon Him, because she trusts in Him...

Standing with you and your family in faith and trust in God alone sweetheart,
with much love and continued prayer,
    Cathie

  5. Hi Cat,
I have always been drawn to the verses In 11 Cor: 9-10. To the world it would not make sense to hear us say "when I am weak then I am strong". I went to my father's bible to look up these verses and as he so often did he put his little comments on the side. The first thing that caught my eye was a huge red exclamation point in red and the two verses underlined in red...in the margins he wrote man is power-less...with our Lord Jesus Christ - God Almighty we are POWER-FULL!

    Praying for all of you!

    Love...Always,
    Angie

Deuteronomy 31:8 The Lord is the one who goes ahead of you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.

    He is our strength. Amen

  7. Cat,
I am so sorry to hear about your Father, my heart goes out to you.
I do not know many verses, but the one I think of whenever life is tough, and beyond tough, is this one:

    Jeremiah 29:11

    New International Version (NIV)

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

I often wish I knew exactly what his plans were, but I know I can apply this to myself and the people I love.

    God Bless you,
    Debbie
