Scripture Memory Team Verse Eight!

Words are so important.

"How blessed is the woman who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stand in the path of sinners;
not sit in the seat of scoffers!
But her delight is in the (Word) of the LORD,
 and in His (Word) she meditates day and night.
She will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season and its leaf does not wither;
 and in whatever she does, she prospers."

There are masses of words being spoken, continually, day and night in this world.
But it is God's Word that is my delight, it is His counsel that I seek day and night.
As my roots go deeper into Him,
His Word accomplishes a healing, strengthening, beautifying and fruitful work in me,
All to His glory and my good.
I am forever His grateful child.

*(I personalized this passage of Scripture to reflect the feminine)

  1. We have been following a book called "The practice of Godliness" in our Bible study,by Jerry Bridges and this last week was on the fruit of the Spirit of Thankfulness, so as my verse I have chosen:
    Collossians 2:6&7 Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as you were taught , abounding in thanksgiving.

  2. Margaret and Cathie - what encouraging verses - "rooted", "roots" and "firmly planted" what a picture.

    Myself, I am having a couple of weeks to catch up and solidify the verses I already have. I appreciate the postings as they are a great help to encourage me along.

  3. Love it!
    I was reading a magazine article and one person said what she saw was enough to make her lose faith in humanity. Immediately I thought how sad it must be to have nothing higher than humanity to put your faith in, how hopeless. How grateful I am to be firmly planted in the Lord!
    Psalm 4:4-5
    Tremble, and do not sin;
    Meditate in your heart upon your bed, and be still.
    Offer the sacrifices of righteousness,
    And trust in the Lord.

  4. How many times has God failed to work all things together for my good? Answer? NEVER! He never has, He never will. Everything, everything, everything will finally be made right. And "We know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose."
    Romans 8:28 ESV
    The whole chapter of Romans 8 is chock a block full of amazing truth to get rooted and grounded in.

  5. What a blessing you girls are... to think that I get to walk this magnificent road with each one of you is such a lovely thought and beautiful reality.

    There are many who drop in quietly and leave in much the same manner... yet the words that they read here as we visit with one another is the Word of God to us... in a world filled with many, many words, the Word of God is True Refreshment to those who will receive and believe... you all are a refreshment to me. Thank you!

    I Peter:5:6&7

    Humble yourselves, therefore under the mighty hand of God,so that at the proper time He may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on Him, for He cares for you.
